Baby P was an unexpected New Years surprise. It took a few days for the shock to wear off but once it did I couldn't be more excited for this little blessing! I am so in love with this growing baby.
I'm pretty much convinced we'll have a good baby because so far it's been very good to mama during pregnancy (fingers crossed it stays this way).
I am lucky to not have any morning sickness. I wondered if I would because my sister was very sick with her kids, but I am taking after my mom with no nausea but a ravenous appetite. The first 12 weeks or so I'm pretty sure I thought I was starving to death! I ate so much. My doctor said it's just my hormones playing tricks on me and I should be full off what I was before. Well, not me because if I went too long before eating or didn't get enough a terrible migraine would follow. Thankfully my appetite is back to normal now for the most part.
I have tried really hard to keep up with my clean eats but I won't lie cravings are no joke! I give in but try not to go over board.
My diet has been a little less paleo and more just clean. I need more starchy carbs to keep me full. Baby P is very easy to please tho. It doesn't mind if I eat healthy or not lol. Loves veggies, eggs and meats. Thankfully no food aversions.
I'm happy with how I'm looking and don't feel like I've gained too much. The belly is growing but I still don't look preggo yet. Pretty sure my fellow gym goers think my news years resolution was to become a competitive eater! Haha I'm rocking a belly gut vs bump. Loose gym tops are my friend! Can't wait to have a real bump to flaunt at the gym.
This week my skin has been clearing up so I'm hoping my hormones are leveling out. I've never experienced breakouts or more than one pimple at a time. I've always had clear, normal skin. My skin began to get oily during pregnancy and I got some lovely pimples. I found a face wash and toner that have helped and it seems to be getting better. I can't complain too much tho since that's been the worst thing.
My energy has been great. I go to bed around 9-10 pm and get up anywhere from 7-9 am. Sleep is definitely a priority because I know I need it. I've been able to consistently train 5-6 days a week and my strength is still there. I haven't been doing as much cardio maybe 10-20 minute sessions a few times a week. I'll run, row, step-mill or use the elliptical or arc trainer. I work abs twice a week. I want a strong core and back to help carry the baby and with delivery.
The first trimester flew by and I am excited for the second trimester. Before we know it we'll know the sex of our sweet pea! Can't wait!
I'll leave you with some pics of my pregnancy so far.
As you can see, in a tight shirt the tummy pops but if I wear a sweater or anything flowy you can't tell.
Hope you're all having a great week!
Get in your push-ups ;)
Xoxo,
E
