But first, I thought I would share how my pregnancy is going. I posted pics last week that we are expecting a BOY.
We are so excited!! My husband is an only child so I think it is wonderful to have a son to carry on our last name. I have started to feel him move this week and it is getting stronger and stronger every day! It is the most exciting feeling! I still have zero sickness and my cravings have calmed. Although when they do come, they're bad. Like I MUST have it. Thankfully I have found foods that are healthier to help my cravings. This belly is growing and it's not slowing down anytime soon. I woke up this morning and looked down to see a much larger belly than yesterday. I am so happy to have a growing boy!
Ok now here is my personal list of "stuff" I am loving during my pregnancy.
Belly Creams: I use two different kinds. The first one I use is Organic Belly Balm by the Honest company. It is more of a petroleum jelly consistency than a cream. It has a very natural smell and contains lots of different oils like coconut, olive, tamanu oil and shea butter. It will leave you feeling very oily and shiny! I like it because it is SO moisturizing. Applying in the morning leaves my skin feeling moisturized all day long and my skin definitely doesn't feel dry by night time. The second cream I use is Stretchy! This smells very citrusy and fresh. I love it for night time because it doesn't feel heavy. It is supposed to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. I do not have any new stretch marks from pregnancy this far, but I do have them from puberty. They are already really light and white but I think they have faded some since using this cream. I am really trying to keep my skin moisturized during my pregnancy because stretch marks do run in my family. If I get them, I get them but if I can anything to prevent I sure will try!

On a side note, I wish BOTH of these companies would ship to my APO address. I have to send it to a family member and then have them ship it to me. Boo.

An Awesome water cup! Speaking of moisture, it is SO important to stay hydrated. It is sometimes tough to get in all your water, especially if you are just drinking from a kitchen glass or small water bottles. We have a water cooler so we never really buy water bottles. I have my 2 water bottles I love. My Air Force bottle holds a liter and I bring it to the gym. I was using it at home but then I found this awesome cup when I was in the states. It is BPA free (both my bottles are) and one of my favorite colors! Plus it has a straw! I don't know about you, but drinking water is so much easier when you have a straw. I got this gem for $5 from Wal-Mart. I aim to fill this baby 8 times throughout the day.
Comfortable yet stylish clothes. I am not a huge fan of maternity clothes so far. When I went home I purchased one pair of jeans and one pair of shorts. The rest of my wardrobe includes maxi skirts (my usual size because I wear them below my belly), dresses sized up because I am tall and as my belly grows the dress needs to stretch but not get shorter in length, ribbed tank tops (they will stretch for days), leggings, blousy loose tops- these are in style these days so I can find longer tops that are flowy to fit a growing baby and work post-pardum as well and my secret weapon...SEAMLESS nude colored under ware. LOVE these because many maxi dresses are kind of see-thru and I don't want my undies showing through! Also your panties can roll up or show when you wear a dress which is not too attractive in my opinion. These leave no sign of anything and are super comfy.
Craving Kickers. I have been craving salty foods a lot lately (definitely Robbie coming thru because he's the salt lover and I am the sweets person). When I am dying for chips I grab sea salt popcorn. It is the perfect low calorie snack. When I just HAVE to have fries (are you catching the pattern here? Pregnancy cravings are life or death haha not really but it sometimes feels like it) I make sweet potato fries with dinner. I don't make them just to eat because then I would eat them all. Now that I am filling up faster I can eat a side with dinner and be full. Dark chocolate when sweets are a must as well as all natural fruit bars to avoid the ice cream. I am trying to have that one big treat meal once a week so I don't over indulge. Like I said, I am filling up faster and so I am noticing I can't do as much damage even when having a treat unless I am starving. If I am starving then I will eat way too fast and way too much and be MISERABLE. Nothing worse. This goes for people who aren't preggo too, do not eat a treat meal when you are starving! You will eat way more than you would if you were just hungry.
Well they are so far. If the list grows as I go I will be sure to add to this!
Hope you are all having a great week!
XOXO,
E
