Ah! I am 10 days late but I did get her monthly picture up on IG on the exact day so that counts for something right?? I think I don't want to believe my baby is 6 months old! Like for real, the time has just flown by way too fast. She has been the best addition to our family. She is loved by everyone she meets and makes my days so much sweeter. It's pretty amazing when you finally meet the child that God hand picked for you and your family. We have this amazing bond that is just SO special. Not to mention the sweet bond Noah has with her is pretty amazing. Siena makes me want another baby every dang day and it is CRAAAY haha just ask Robbie. I think it has something to do with reeally enjoying every baby phase and "first". When you get to your second baby you know how dang fast it all goes, so I'm hangin' on ya'll I'm hangin' on.
Anyways, now that I am done being a total sap I should mention that I waited to write her update because I wanted to get some cute 6 month pictures of her along with Noah at 2.5 years old. They turned out SO cute. I am excited to share some of Siena's pics here and Noah's in his 2.5 year update in a few days. I just love the 2 year age gap so much!
STATS.
Weight: 17 lbs 6 oz 71%
Height: 26.5 inches 81%
Her head is not growing at the rate of the rest of her so the doctor said he'll watch that, but she might just have a small head like her mama! She is getting taller but not really gaining as fast anymore so her sweet rolls aren't as intense as they were a few months ago...it kind of makes me want to cry haha.
6-9 month clothes fit perfect!
EAT.
Siena is an amazing eater these days. She LOVES food so much! Especially "real" food. We do a combo of purees and "real" food. She will literally lunge across the table to get to my food. haha. I am also a bit more relaxed this go round than I was with Noah. I have given her pizza crust to suck on and French fries and that is something I would have never done with him haha.
Her eating schedule goes like this:
- Wake up and nurse
- about an hour later she has "breakfast" which is half a container of blended oat meal and fruit. Some mornings I make her a pancake if I am making one for Noah and she devours it!
- nurse after morning nap
- nurse after afternoon nap
- "dinner" between 6&630 pm which is half a container of veggies and half a container of fruit
-nurse before bed
She nurses 4-5 times a day. She typically goes to bed and wakes up 2-3 hours later for a "snack" which is one side and then back down until morning.
I love that she is so easy to please with food lately, because when I first tried solids she had no interest and didn't really like much! Now she likes things she didn't in the beginning.
Oh I should mention, still no interest in a bottle!
SLEEP.
Ah sleep, sweet sleep! She is doing AMAZING!! I am so happy we are past the 4 month regression crap. In the future I am not going to have very high sleep expectations for my babies until 5 months because wow, they are so different one they hit that age!
She has always been a great napper and continues to do so. She sleeps best in her crib so I try to be home for her naps if I can or at least her morning nap because it's the longest one she has.
She sleeps about 2 hours in the morning and 1-2 in the afternoon and occasionally has a late afternoon cat nap. Sometimes she won't go down for the cat nap so I do bed time a little earlier.
Siena has really easy sleep cues that I follow daily. She rubs her eyes and starts to get cranky and that is typically at the 2 hour mark of wake time sometimes it's a little longer, but especially in the morning she lasts about 2 hours before needing a nap.
She goes to bed at night around 7:30 pm and sleeps for 2-3 hours before waking up to nurse on one side. I don't mind because I am still awake so she isn't disturbing my sleep at all! I feel so amazing getting better rest! She then sleeps all the way until morning. SO happy we are both sleeping so well at this point!
WHAT'S NEW?
Siena is sitting up for really long periods of time before falling over. If she is focused on something then she doesn't fall, but she can still be a little wobbly. She even took a bath the other day just sitting in the tub! I had a hand on her at all times because her crazy brother was in the bath too and I didn't want her to fall over in the water.
She mimics you when you make a smacking/kissy sound and it is SO cute! I do it all day and it never gets old.
When she gets excited she breaths thru her nose really hard and fast. It seriously cracks me up!
When Siena wants to eat something you have she opens wide and says, "ahhhh". The love for food is real!
She is getting more and more fiesty and will express it when she is mad or you're not feeding her fast enough ;)
Guys, we are yet to get a belly laugh out of this girl! It's like torture waiting for it, but I know when it comes it will be so amazing!
She is in the clingy phase and can only be entertained in her bouncer or on the floor for so long before she cries for me to hold her. She gets even more mad if she sees me walk by and I don't pick her up.
FAVORITES.
- Eating because obviously...
- Mama. I am her favorite person these days and even tho she adores her daddy she will cry for me or reach for me if she really wants me!
- Bath time. She is a little fish in the water! She loves to splash and can stay in there for a long time. It definitely relaxes her before bed time to take a bath.
- Going outside! The weather has been so nice lately that I have been taking Noah to the playground most days and she loves being outside. She smiles and kicks the whole time in the stroller.
NOT A FAN.
- Naps not in her crib. She just doesn't sleep as long or as well.
- Her car seat but I have to say she is tolerating it better each day, but I don't think she will ever love it.
SIENA AUGUST ROSE.
My love for you grows by the minute! I wish you could stay 6 months old for a while longer because I love this age so much! Your personality grows by the day, you're sleeping amazing and you're a mamas girl! What more could I ask for?! I do however, love watching you grow and interact with your brother and you are so smart!! Love you so much baby girl!!
