15 weeks and baby is the size of an avocado
AH! 15 weeks with baby 3 already! It's crazy how the weeks can be so long yet time is flying by. This babe will be in our arms before we know it. I am SO excited but also like whoa! 3 kids?! This is a crazy season in every aspect but I am fully embracing it. I have always wanted a "big" family. When I really think about what I've wanted to be when I grow up it has always been a mama, so I guess I'm livin' the dream :)
SYMPTOMS
I am SO happy the first trimester is over! Like so happy. This pregnancy has been so different than my last 2 in so many ways. The first trimester was rough. I started out sooo exhausted and needed to nap every day. I basically got thru the beginning of the day knowing I could nap to get thru the second half. I started feeling sick pretty early on. I was nauseous for a short time with siena but I could usually get it under control, and it was pretty short lived. This baby would make me sick at any given time of the day and it would come in waves. Sometimes I'd feel sick because I needed to eat and sometimes what I ate would send me over the edge. bleh. I would never throw up...just felt like I needed to, which is almost worse!! I am hoping those days are over! Each day I feel a little better.
I have an extremely sensitive gag reflex. I had one with Siena but not this bad! In fact, the only time I threw up during this pregnancy was when I had a bad dry cough that made me start dry heaving. I couldn't stop because of my sensitive gag reflex and it turned to me puking. I am so glad that cough is gone!!
My skin has been breaking out here and there but nothing too terrible.
CRAVINGS
I haven't had any crazy out of the ordinary cravings this time. More like food aversions. I haven't wanted very much meat. Especially in the beginning. Everything smelled so gross. I did desperately want chips and queso yesterday and my sweet friend and neighbor brought me some! Oh, soda. I hardly ever drank it before and tried to stick to mostly water (and coffee ;) ) but an ice cold dr. pepper to cherry coke sounds sooo good most of the time. I know, face palm. Thankfully I have still been loving my amazing shakes and bars to get in the good nutrition between the cheese and soda ;)
WEIGHT GAIN
Nothing so far! I know, crazy right?! I was actually shocked to see I lost 2 lbs at my doctors appointment the other day. Again, just shows how different this pregnancy is! I usually gain a lot in the first trimester, but I am starting out quite a bit heavier than my "normal" weight. I basically went from breastfeeding Siena to being pregnant that I think my body and hormones are a little confused. I am hoping to gain as little as possible this time so I don't have as much to lose after, but we all know that that is easier said than done!!
WORKOUTS
I have barely worked out this whole pregnancy besides spinning a few times and a couple lifting sessions. I have felt so sick or tired that nap time came before workouts. It has been so hard on me because that is my "me" time and therapy, but I know soon enough I'll be back at it. I am hoping this week or next!!
HEY BABY
It's so exciting that I get to see this baby with every doctors appointment! In Italy I only got to see my babes at the 20 week scan and it wasn't 3D or anything fancy! I love that we are experiencing this this time. It makes me feel more connected for some reason. Check out that babe's long legs!! I have thought I have felt flutters but I wasn't sure and now I am certain, because look at those legs!! It is measuring 2 days ahead compared to last time. I am also blaming the legs ;) I wonder if this will be my biggest baby?!
I love you so much already baby 3! Can't wait to see you at my next check-up!!
