22 week bump date! Half way thru second trimester
This pregnancy is flying by! Noah and Siena keep me so busy during this season of life, and with all the holidays that just passed it feels like so many weeks just snuck past me. I am 22 weeks as of yesterday and have officially popped!! This is the stage where you're cute pregnant haha so I will enjoy it before I become massive ;) You might have picked up on it, but we're not announcing the gender this time around! We are so excited for the day we meet this baby boy or girl!
SYMPTOMS
Oh man, this pregnancy has been so different than my last 2!! I was pretty sick (but never actually threw up) in my first trimester. The second trimester came and I was SO relieved and hoping for some relief! But then around 15 weeks I began experiencing hormonal migraines. Again, something I have never had in the past. It was awful. I would wake up with a headache and go to bed with one. The doctor prescribed me something around 17 weeks when I couldn't take it anymore but then they got better! Crazy hormones!
My belly has officially popped and it is already feeling heavy. It will be interesting to see how big I get and how big this baby is. I have pretty average sized babies but who knows! I am guessing this will be my biggest baby so far. I can still wear my pre pregnancy pants but I did get one pair of full panel leggings and I have to say, I love the support they give my belly so I will prob invest in more maternity bottoms soon.
The lower back pain has kicked in on occasion as well as major ligament pain. My ligament pain has been different as well. I was concerned with the cramping and brought it up to my OB... it's just ligament pain thankfully, but Ive always had it in my groin area and never cramping in my lower belly. I guess my uterus is still pretty high so that explained it! I notice my ligament pain is worse on the days the kids are wanting to be held a lot. This whole having kids close together is rough but I am SO excited!
My headaches have mostly cleared up but Ive had a permanent cold for what feels like months. I keep getting new symptoms or recirculating the old, but I have never blown my nose so much in my life!! I feel like my energy is finally way better most days, but because of the sickness in first trimester, headaches in second and now permanent cold I have not been working out like I wanted to. But I am not being hard on myself because I know that it's never too late to start! I am hoping to get back into some movement this week! Even if it's just going for walks...very cold walks because it's freezing here in Utah.
CRAVINGS
The craziest thing I have been craving is spicy food! I have been wanting jalapeños on my pizza which I normally don't love jalapeños and buffalo chicken...with a side of pickles haha. In the moment I am sweating and my mouth is on fire while I contemplate WHY I wanted this in the first place, but then my mouth cools off and I am wanting it all over again. haha.
Also, grapefruit! I have been buying the cups of grapefruit and drinking the juice too. mmmm haha so weird!
WEIGHT GAIN
Shockingly I haven't gained any weight so far! This is pretty surprising to me, but I think my body just already has what it needs for pregnancy. If I don't gain until the end that will be great for me when it's time to get back into shape post partum! I just haven't stressed about it this time and that helps so much. I mean my body does what it wants when I am pregnant no matter what I do, so might as well not stress over it. I am active and healthy and will lose it all at some point!
HEY BABY
I am loving feeling this baby jump around. It is super active especially when I stretch out after meals or before bed. This is the most recent ultra sound picture from about 3 weeks ago! I am due for my anatomy scan and should get even more pictures. That has to be my favorite part about this pregnancy is seeing baby so much! Such a treat :)
I love this baby so much already and can't believe we only have 4 months until we meet!!
